N Soule (or similar), who lived at 911 16th Street somewhere, perhaps in southern Maine, where I found it, but I'm not sure. She certainly had skills, and I think it's a terrific, quite transportive little painting, with this dog protagonist placed in quite the enviable spot it's a dog's world!
