Picea abies 'Columnaris'A narrow, columnar form of the Norway Spruce. The plant will be 12 15 ft tall in 10 years, but only 2 feet across. Excellent 'spire' for the garden where a contrasting form is needed among mounding plant shapes. The dark green foliage persists year round and will never need pruning. Because the roots are shallow, and will compete with turf, a ring of bark mulch is recommended. The tree is very hardy to zone 3.
