Themis, the Goddess of Justice in AlabasterThemis was the Titan goddess of divine law and order, the traditional rules of conduct first established by the gods. She was also a prophetic goddess who presided over the most ancient oracles, including Delphi. Her symbols are the Scales of Justice, tools used to remain balanced and pragmatic. Themis means "divine law" rather than human ordinance, literally "that which is put in place", from the Greek verb tthmi (), meaning "to put".
