This piece is most likely Scandinavian and made in Sweden. The klismos chair originated in ancient Greece, perfected by the 5th century BCE and is defined by its curved, splayed legs and a concave backrest. After falling out of fashion, its design was resurrected during the Neoclassical revival in the 18th century
